Green on Gameday

Down South, football is a part of our culture that is widely celebrated, watched, and enjoyed. With Friday night lights, college football Saturday, and Sunday NFL games, the whole weekend can be filled with football.
We are based out of the deep South, way down in South Georgia where, aside from church, farming and football are two of the most important things to the local community. Anywhere football is present, a group gathers. When a group gathers, what does the group need most? Good food! Be it a tailgate event, backyard BBQ, or a living room gathering, good food is there to give energy when your team is winning and comfort when they’re down.
We are a farm divided when it comes to football: mostly Georgia Bulldog fans with a couple of Florida State Seminoles and Florida Gator fans. Baker Farms ships across the country. Whether you’re an SEC, ACC, Big 10, or other conference fan, there is one thing we can all agree on - good football should always be accompanied by good food.
When it comes to good “football food,” finger foods usually come to mind. Foods that are easy enough to eat while watching the game. Drinks, chips and dips, veggie tray, pizza, chicken strips; the list of possibilities goes on.
What are you bringing to the watch party? Check out two of our favorite dips that combine cheesy goodness and collard greens to give you fun flavor during the weekend and collard nutrients to fuel you throughout the rest of your week. Whatever colors you are sporting on gameday, be sure to add a little green to your weekend celebration!

Warm & savory, your guests will be returning for a second helping!

Talk about comfort food! Salty collards, flavorful bacon - say less.
